One moonlit night on Outoverdown Farm, just before the outbreak of the Second World War, a baby is discovered with a note pinned to its shawl – "PLEASE SAVE THIS LAMB".

As John Joseph grows up, the mystery of his birth is not the only thing that marks him out as special.  He has an amazing way with animals of all kinds – dogs, foxes, hares, horses.  And when John Joseph gets a job as a crowstarver he even loves the crows he must scare away from the newly sown corn.  But life can be tough and danger is only ever a whisker away...

Packed with action, wonderful animal puppets and beautiful live music, The Crowstarver is a thrilling and heart-warming production that will delight and move audiences of all ages.

Theatre Alibi has an excellent reputation for creating imaginative and enjoyable productions and The Crowstarver follows successful adaptations of Graham Greene's The Ministry of Fear, Michael Frayn's Spies and Michael Morpurgo's Why the Whales Came, which transferred to the West End.

This is truly faultless theatre - moving and highly original.  Don't miss it"

Comments from audience members on The Crowstarver

From family audiences:

"I saw The Crowstarver with my eleven year old daughter. I was anxious because in the past I have accidentally taken her to see some mediocre theatre and I so wanted her to experience a really powerful drama - your company gave her that and more in The Crowstarver. We saw performances of total authenticity and theatrical effects that took our breath away"
