Northcott Community Singers celebrates raising money for the RNIB
The Northcott Community Singers is celebrating raising £928.28 for the RNIB and Action For Blind People.
271 people attended Sense-ation, a fundraising concert on Thursday 10 December, 2009, with all proceeds going to the charities.
At the concert, the Northcott Community Singers sang with Clear Sounds, a South West choir made up of blind and partially sighted people.
Here are just some examples of what the money can go towards: -
£100 enables a young person with sight loss to spend a day on a vacation schemes trying new leisure activities and making new friends.
£125 pays for someone to attend an RNIB low vision clinic where they can learn about equipment that helps them manage the many daily challenges they face.
£400 means the RNIB can identify the right equipment and support for a blind or partially-sighted child to get the most out of their schooling.
We’d like to thank the Northcott Community Singers, Clear Sounds, RNIB and Action For Blind People for all their hard work on this project.
The Northcott Community Singers is Exeter Northcott’s community choir led by Colin Rea and Claire Steer, and is open to everyone to join.
